Benefit || Hoola Bronzer...

I had never tried this bronzer before but had heard lots of great things about it. I saw Benefit was doing a give-away on Twitter so I thought I may as well join in and see if I win .. and I did (!!) so I thought I would do a quick blog post about it.

Benefit were very lovely and the delivery of it was very fast, I was super excited to receive it.

Here's a link to their twitter as they are always doing give-aways!

I love the cute box packaging and it comes with the most adorable brush which you can see in the top photo, the perfect sculpting brush.

The colour is a neutral brown shade and is the perfect contour colour for people with pale skin, who need a little help with warming up their skin tone. I will definitely use it more during the winter months as I go quite far into the pale end of the skin spectrum.
However I won't need it as much in the summer as I can usually get a pretty good tan.

I really like that you can make this as subtle as you like for an all over warmth or build it up for a deeper contour. Here is a swatch of it on my hand.

Even though it can be quite subtle it is pretty pigmented and you don't need much for each application. So I think if you do buy it, it will last you a very long time.

You can buy it for £23.50 from Boots.

Hope you enjoyed my brief review of this cute bronzer!

Meeting other bloggers || #PlymouthBlogMeet...

This was my first ever blogger meet which the lovely Ellie Mae kindly organised and was held at Rumpus Cosy in Plymouth.

Here are the links to the bloggers that attended -

The set up was so lovely, we took up a few tables which were decked with cute tea cups and jugs of cucumber water. We each paid £6 ahead of the meet so we could order from the menu on the day.
There was free carrot cake, which was so pretty and that all of us had to take photos of before we demolished it. I got an iced coffee sweetened with condensed milk to go with it.

The ladies I talked were super lovely and we all got on like we'd known each other for ages.
Unfortunately there were quite a few I didn't get to speak to as they were sat on the other end of our long table. However I do feel we shall be having more meets in the future so I'm sure I will get to know them soon.

Near the end of the 'meet up' we got given goodie bags each with our name on, which contained samples from different brands; from a beauty sponge to ice tea, false eyelashes to an assortment of wet wipes.

Overall I loved the experience and will definitely attend another in the future where we hope we can get more bloggers based near Plymouth involved.

Here are a few pictures from the gathering (click to enlarge)...

If you have twitter make sure you check out #PlymouthBlogMeet to see what other people have shared!

Makeup Revolution || Wish List...

My list of things I want from Makeup Revolution is ever growing so I thought I would make a Wish List from their website! I have linked all the products where you can also see what they look like.

Hope you enjoy this post and maybe find something to add to your own wish list...

Their recently released Ultra Brow (Palette) in Medium to Dark, which comes with 4 brow powders, 2 tinted brow waxes, arch enhancing cream, brow bone highlighter, brow pencil, 2 brushes and some mini tweezers... all for £7.99.

I have their Flawless Matte Palette and would like to add the Beyond Flawless & Flawless palettes to my collection. £8.00 each.

I love a good blush and this Ultra Blush and Contour Palette in Sugar and Spice looks so beautiful. It has a mix of shimmer, matte and baked colours. £6.00.

I haven't tried any setting sprays yet because most are out of my price range, also having an oily t-zone I thought this would be perfect for me - Pro Fix Oil Control Makeup Fixing Spray. £5.00.

I have 3 of their eye shadow brushes and would like to expand my selection with the Pro F103 Stippling Brush and the Pro F105 Contour Brush. £3.49 each.

To clean the above brushes I would like the Pro Hygiene Antibacterial Brush Cleaner. £5.00.

This is my list so far but I'm sure I will find more to add very soon!

What are your favourite Makeup Revolution products?

Natural Foundation Routine || Oily Skin...

This is a very picture heavy post but hope it helps those who have an oily t-zone like me.

I have been doing this base under my foundation for half a year now and it has been an absolute saviour when it comes to controlling oil. It sounds pretty gross, putting a laxative on your skin, but it really works. I don't have to carry powder any more and I stay oil free all day!

This is also the make up I do for a natural base and for going to the gym (yes I am one of those people).

Products in this post:

Starting with a bare face...

Pour out a tiny bit of Milk of Magnesia...

Apply a thin layer of it onto the oily parts of your face and let dry
(I use a hair dryer as I am impatient)...

Use a silicone based primer and apply on top/all over your face,
this will get rid of the white ghost face look...

My skin is pretty happy at the moment and as this is a natural look
I only put the concealer on my dark circles and any spots.
Then I use the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation to blend it out on the sponge...

And set my whole face with the Stay Matte Powder...

I use the Collection Eyebrow kit and the Zoeva Brow Line brush to do my brows.
I also add a bit of the darkest colour to my lash line.
This stuff stays on all day long and as you can see is very well used...

Here's what the finished look is and how I would go to the gym.
As a day to day look I would add bronze and blush and do different eye looks...

I really hope you try Milk of Magnesia as a base because it really is amazing at controlling oil throughout the day, no matter how much I sweat.

DIY Dry Shampoo || Brown Hair...

I thought I would do a quick chocolate based post as it is Easter!

I have read about doing a DIY dry shampoo in many places on the internet so I wanted to try it for myself. And this one is especially great for people with brown hair.

What you need:
Cornflour
Cocoa Powder (pure)
A container
An old make up brush

This is the easiest thing to make as you literally just mix the two ingredients together until you have the shade you want. I did around two tablespoons of each to start with and then added a little more cocoa powder to darken it a little.

Taa Daa!

Here's my finished product. I put mine in a sealable container so I can reuse it as and when I need it. This is so much cheaper than buying dry shampoo like Batiste and may I add I think this works a lot much better. It leaves my hair feeling soft to touch and doesn't leave a white powdery look like Batiste does. The amount you can make from these two purchases will last months and months.

All you do to apply the product is dip the brush into the powder, tap off the excess and stipple onto your roots. You barely need to rub it in but I brush my hair through anyway just to disperse it all evenly. It works so well and you can do it for a few days without hair feeling gross. I used to wash my hair every two days but with this the most I managed was 4 days!!

I hope you liked this and go try it for yourself.. if you do, come back and comment to tell me what you thought! Ever made any DIY beauty products?
