Lush Blogger Event || Lush Summer...

A few days ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a Lush Blogger Event in my local Lush, Plymouth. When the email came through I immediately jumped at the chance. I love Lush, but usually only buy the products as a treat every now and then so was very excited to be invited to this.

As we arrived we were greeted with little Lush style 'cups' to drink from. They had bottles of tasty sparkling juice chilling in the ice with their fresh face masks.

There were nine of us and obviously I had to take a quick picture of myself there, with Leona jumping in on the action. #selfie

I have always loved how they set out their Fresh Face Masks...

This event was held for us so they could show us all their new summer goodies.
They demonstrated some of their products, from feet to head.

Starting with feet -

Their new hand products include -

Then came their new bath bombs, which make me a little sad as I don't have a bath so have never tried any. I do however plan on going round my parent's house and stealing (not literally) their bath for an evening.

Frozen (inspired by a well known recent fairytale...)

(I chose this one to try, I love space and looking up at the night sky)

Onto their new body scrub powder - Life's a Beach - this is what they call a Showder (a shower powder), made with Sea Salt and Sand which leaves a vanillary scent on your body.

I didn't get any photos of them but they showed us their new face mask and scrub...

And their amazingly unique oil-based-yet-matte moisturiser - Magical Moringa - something I have tried over the past few days as a moisturising primer on my oily/combination skin.
I shall be doing a full review on it soon.

Having grown my hair over the past year and a half from a pixie cut to now shoulder length locks, I was quite excited to hear about their new hot oil hair treatments. There are 3 different ones, each made for specific types of hair -

(I chose this one as I have curly hair, I can't wait to use it)

Here is a picture of my goodie bag, products they gave us to try. A very big thank you to them for organising this event and giving us so many treats.

For a shower product I chose The Comforter - a super sweet shower gel with a similar scent to their infamous Snow Fairy.

As an extra I decided to treat myself and buy my favourite Fresh Face Mask - Catastrophe Cosmetic - which you can read my review on here. And then I also got a sample of their Henna hair colour in Brun, I dye my hair a lot so I thought I should give something natural a go.

In our bags we got their booklet, which I took to work where I read through and drooled over all their products, my mental wishlist is growing rapidly.

Here is the photo Lush took of us at the end of the event... Go follow Lush on Instagram and Twitter - @lushplymouth @lushcosmetics

And if you wanted to follow me - @corinnafochler

Hope you enjoyed my post and that you go onto try some of their new summer line.

Makeup Revolution Haul || Correct, Contour, Blush, Highlight...

After many months of being a good girl, I decided I would take advantage of the offer Makeup Revolution had on their website... 3for2 on everything!! I am very sorry to say that this deal is now over. *sad face*

On a quick side note I got a new phone recently, the Samsung Galaxy S6. It has an amazing camera so all the photos you see on this blog post are taken using it. I wanted test it and I am very impressed.

I read about the new corrector palette and their contour palette on so many other blogs, so naturally I added these straight to my basket. In this post you will find photos and swatches of the products I bought.

Let's start with the base, the colour correction palette.
It has 8 different shades, each with it's own job.

Pink - Brightens
Lavender - Neutralises yellow tones
Green - Neutralises redness
Peach - Balances out slight discolouration
White - Adds natural highlight
Cream - Neutralises purple/dark areas
Brown -  Balances a shines in darker skin tones

The colours are super creamy, very opaque and pigmented.
I have no pictures when them in use on my face yet, but I think I'll do a whole 'makeup routine' blog post using these products in the next month.

Onto the contour palette... Being quite pale most of the time I do need some help with making my face look a little more alive and healthy. Again these are super pigmented, especially the darker colours and the shimmery highlights. I love using the colour second in from the left at the bottom for contouring, a great more neutral brown, perfect for paler skin tones.

I LOVE THIS BLUSH PALETTE!

Look at the amazing colours. If you are on the paler side, be super careful when using the deeper colours as they damn pigmented and you can end up with very colourful cheeks... Believe me, I went there a few days ago!

The next product that made it into my basket is this triple baked highlighter.
Ok, yes I did buy this because of the packaging...so cute.
I have a few highlighters from Makeup Revolution and this is the most difficult to go overboard with.
I have found it is easier to use my finger to apply this one whereas with the other ones I have I use a brush.

I have had my eye on this Rose Gold Foil for so long, it was always out of stock when I went to buy it in the past, but I finally have it.

It is glorious!

I saw Nikkie from NikkieTutorials use it as an inner corner highlight in one of her videos, so that is how I have used it so far. I am excited to do a full eye look with it though.

The swatch on the left is it straight out of the pot using a small brush, the one on the right is it mixed with the Liquid Eye Primer that comes with it.

And finally I bought their Oil Control Fixing Spray to set everything once I have piled all of the above make up on my face.

Ultra Base Corrector Palette £6.00
Ultra Contour Palette £8.00
Ultra Blush and Contour Palette - Sugar and Spice £6.00
I ♡ Makeup Blushing Hearts - Goddess of Love Highlighter £4.99
Awesome Metals Eye Foils - Rose Gold £4.00
Pro Fix Oil Control Fixing Spray £5.00

I hope you enjoyed my post and then go on to buy all of these amazing products.
Happy shopping!

Bourjois || Poudre De Riz De Java - Undereye Setting Powder...

I have recently been on the look out for a new undereye setting powder which isn't heavy & doesn't make my concealer go creepy and cakey.
I asked around on Twitter and someone suggested this one so I went hunting in Boots and bought it.

This is the Bourjois Rice Powder (Poudre de Riz), a very finely milled powder which is super silky to touch. It has a pinky nude tone with a little hint of golden shimmer to it.
Perfect for brightening and setting under eye concealer.

Firstly before I go into great detail I have to say what sold me on this was the packaging, look at how cute it is!!!

The scent of the powder is one that matches the packaging, not to put anyone off, but it smells like powdery old ladies (no offence), I like it but don't worry for those who find that a bit odd, the smell does fade as soon as it's applied.

Smells aside, let's move onto what I think...

Even though it has a pink undertone I do feel it would work well on most skin tones, but could start looking a little ashy on more tanned/darker skin types (I might be wrong though, go swatch it on your hand to be sure). It does say one transparent shade suits all so I guess you don't know until you've tried it.

I have olive skin (skin that my sister's call alien skin because I'm so green compared to them) but I go pretty damn pale without sunshine, this worked really well when I was pale but when I'm more tanned I do have to mix it a little with either my stay matte or essence all about matt! powder to dilute the pink tones.

I think this would be really lovely as an all over setting powder for those of you with super pale pink-toned skin who want a bit of luminance in your life. I will be trying this when I turn into Casper the Ghost in winter.

I use this powder as part of my everyday make up routine, either on it's own or mixed with my other powders, it really brightens my under eye area.

Below I have tried to capture the colour and shimmer as best as I could so I hope the pictures are helpful if you are looking to buy this powder. It is a pretty heavy swatch to show the colour & shimmer, it doesn't look like that when I set my concealer with it.

I bought mine in Boots when there was a deal for Bourjois (2 for £14), but it is usually priced at £9.99 in Boots which I do think is a little pricey for such a small container. Saying that I do think it will last me a long time as you don't need very much.

Thank you for reading and I hope this helped you!
